Yeah, I'm aware. I see it as a few drunk kids, after the fact, deciding that they're going to stroll down from their dorms and tear down the goalpost at an empty stadium. They weren't even at the game. To me it doesn't mean anything, they might as well have rolled a car over in the parking lot.

It's not just Duke, it happens everywhere. It seemed like rushing the field used to be reserved for huge upsets over your big in-state rival that ruins their 9-0 season, hail mary finishes, buzzer beaters, etc. A spontaneous eruption and celebration of triumph right there on the field. Or something.

For some reason I get the feeling that these crowds, on some level, are operating under the premise that tearing down a goalpost is supposed to be a part of everybody's college experience.
