Gearbox has revealed new downloadable content for Duke Nukem Forever, adding a new single-player campaign to the game along with a handful of multiplayer maps. The content is set to launch on December 13 on all platforms.

'The Doctor Who Cloned Me' will bring Duke "deep in the heart of Area-51" where Dr. Proton has been hatching a new, evil plan. Duke will have to contend with "evil clones, aliens queens and anything else that comes his way" in order to save the world. The announcement promises new achievements, weapons, enemies, and bosses.

'The Doctor Who Cloned Me' includes new enemies and weapons

According to a page on the official Duke Nukem site, the upcoming downloadable content also adds four fresh multiplayer maps to Duke Nukem Forever:

Duke Nukem Forever 'The Doctor Who Cloned Me' will be available on December 13 for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 for $9.99 (800MS Points).

I know there's a lot of hate for this game but i'm actually looking forward to this DLC. IMO DNF was worth the $10 I paid for it on Steam and as long as this new campaign has some decent length to it i'll be happy to play through some more stuff in the DN universe.

Who's with me? lol

EDIT: Now available on Steam. http://store.steampowered.com/agecheck/app/57925/

Sweet. Haven't actually finished the Single Player game yet, but recently bought the Multiplayer DLC.

That would be awesome but there's no mention about it and i'm a first access member as well and haven't received an email about. Maybe they'll give us a discount.. :)

Anyone downloaded it yet? I'll probably pick it up tonight when I get home from work.

Word on the gearbox forums is that the new campaign is a pretty big improvement over the original.

Sorry for bumping this again, I just wanted to give an update. I downloaded it last night and played for a little over an hour and i've got to say it seems a lot better than the original campaign. It's faster paced and a lot of the issues with the first one seem to be corrected. Like have to stand in front of an NPC who's talking without being able to move until they're finished, or large sections without much action. There's not too much useless dialogue this time around and you can skip it all if you want, plus it was pretty much constant action during the time I played along with a few decent puzzle sections. This was developed completely by Triptych Games and wasn't part of unused 3drelams stuff and I actually think it benefited from that immensely.

If you enjoyed the original campaign you'll definitely enjoy this one. Even if you didn't and picked up Duke for $5 or $10 bucks recently i'd still suggest giving this one a try. Those who've finished it say it clocks in at around 4-5 hours depending on how much you explore, so for $10 i'd say it's worth your money.

thanks. I was wondering how long it was as paying $10 for less than a hour would not be happening.

Something to buy when I get home then. That and re-enable updates as I suspect there are a few of those since I disabled it.

No prob.

The newest patch adds the ability to carry 4 weapons at once and there are several new options in the video settings menu now. The two biggest changes for me was the ability to change the FOV (i'm using 90) and turn off motion blur. I'd also suggest turning off DOF (as it's pretty poorly implemented IMO) using the flawlesswidescreen app. The main website for that app appears to be gone but I found a link for it here:
