Amen. So true, so true. They tried to stir some of their old fans back up with Manhatten project. I got it but I don't think it's too great.

3D Realms didnt work on Daikatana for a start, that was Ion Storm.

See, that's the key problem.

This is a game that was supposed to be what.. a Quake killer?
Maybe Quake II? I forget.

Even if the game will be released and will be more than the developer team could've ever imagined, it still has to compete with everything Doom III and Half Life II will have to offer, as well as probably tons of other excellent games if we're looking at another solid year before release.

This is going to be an even bigger joke than Diakatana, even if the game does pretty well and doesn't suck. Since I saw the first shots of it back in late 1997 or early 1998, we're talking about nearly 10 years in development.

Frickin' laughable.

based on the E3 2001 preview I've seen, if DNF comes out in 2005... they better rebuild the graphics engine completely or it's going to look like Max Payne 1 graphics.

Have you seen the rolling footage of DNF from E3 2K1 ?
I have it on my HD. Despite its "age" it looks far better than alot of games out today. I dont know which one you`ve seen, but the one ive seen is on par with Unreal2 gfx wise.

Quake2 --> Unreal.
Thats the only switch that i`m aware of.

Thats the only switch that i`m aware of.

I'm almost positive that I read they switched off the Unreal engine to one of the newer ones, but I'm not sure which one.
