Howdy,

Been looking for this vintage game for a while. Out of print, out of stock. Only saw it as a shareware CD (along with some additional, crappy games) in a Staples store.

I'll ask directly - is there a place on the Web where I can find the whole thing?

Head over to the nearest Best Buy and check where they sell the CD-Jewel case software for $9.99.

To avoid a lock, we'll assume you mean to BUY the whole thing...

I've seen them in Electronics Boutique bargain racks, so there must still be plenty of copies floating around. 🙂
 
If ever you see Shadow Warrior check it out really nice game flow and sweet levels, made on the Duke engine.
 
at a local best buy in NC they still have some copies of duke 3d for 10 bucks
and a two pack of shadow warrior and duke for 19.99
 
Blood is also a damn funny (& gory) game ,I believe that uses slightly updated version of the Duke engine in its last update.
 
I LOVED Duke 3D. It had so much more atmosphere than Quake or anything else at the time. Playing it on a LAN was insane...the Stadium level was insane fun!
 
Uhhh, guys,

First, I'm in Ottawa (Canada), so I can't really go to a Best Buy.
Second, all the bargain CD's I've seen are all Shareware, the game is not complete.

So, I'm really in a bit of limbo...

By the way, is "Blood" the one in which you also do a bit of interacting with some characters? you're a thief or something, and join a rebellion against some creepy religious order? you also need to gather all the components of a superweapon? so it's basically a "shoot'em up" game with a bit of adventure?

What pisses me off is that I've seen in 1995 a Bulgarian pirate CD which had like 20 games on it (archived, of course), and Duke was among them... well...

 
Try posting in the "I WANNA" thread in the Hot Deals forum. Don't just start a thread asking where to buy the game out right because the Mods will lock it (politely) since it's not a Hot Deal. You could also try the For Sale/Trade forum. Both those forums are pretty well attended.

This forum is kind of AnandTech's redheaded stepchild 😉.

Ref Blood I never really played the single player mode (I found it too hard & I rarely play it now) usually multiplayer on a LAN ,if you think Duke 3D is madness you should try Blood 🙂

BTW if you enable your PM I might be able to help you with Duke3D
 
Duke3D is the best game i played ever

the first game i used a serial cable to challange another person

flying with the jetpack is funny as hell

So, is Blood the game I'm thinking of? The reason I'm asking is because I've seen Blood 2 and it's nothing like the original thing (then again, neither did Quake and Quake 2 had much in common as far as action and characters go...)
 
Blood II uses the Lithtech engine (and is pretty awful except for a couple good levels). I don't know what Blood (1) used, but it looks sprite based to me.
 
Blood has the same level of graphics as Duke 3D ,slightly better in v1.2 though because you could select up to 1600x1200 in that latter version.

Blood inlvolved a calous but cool dude set in a time when earth has been taken over by zombies and wierd monks who try to kill you ! ,its very gory but funny ,especailly in multiplayer mode.
I guess his goal is to splat them all ,but I don't really know because I never finished the single player mode.
