A hardware-based 3D engine like QuakeII or ($$) Torque would be interesting to play with if I had a little more free time and energy. 'til then it's a neffer's life for me 😉

Only as ultra-low-res bitmaps. In Q2 you could make a 30K-polygon models DOA volleybal style 😉
