How does he afford to support all these kids?

Works hard. He and his family are the epitome of the American dream.

Raising a swarm of kids is the American Dream? 😕

No breeding your own religious cult of mindless slaves, and then having incestuous relations with your progeny is the American Dream.

shudder... I don't mind large families 5-7 but that is excessive. I wonder what the echo is like down there?

The doctor just puts in an extra stitch when he's sewing her back up after the delivery.

The level of hate and fear in this thread is astounding. I would have never dreamed that a functional Christian family could be so threatening to your belief's. Most of you will some day run into someone that not only doesn't think like you, they will actually be a different color! You all need to start thinking about that possibility and how you're going to deal with it when it happens.

There is no apostrophe in "beliefs".

Blah, blah, blah... This country has enough religious whack jobs as it is. I can be as loving and tolerant as I need to be. Just as long as they aren't breeding their own cult.

...or breeding excessively because of a different cult.

All I'm saying is, these media whores are putting their lives out on a continual basis for people to scrutinize.

If they are going to continue to flaunt their family in front of the camera, then they by all means are going to get whatever flak comes with that (over)exposure.

Some people think it's cute... some people think it's disgusting. Whatever floats your boat...

And all I'm saying is that it's a very large family that to all outward appearances is healthy and happy. The kids are well behaved and respectful, they support themselves without asking for handouts. They have no debt and they all seem to have a solid work ethic. That used to be respected, it used to be seen as the proper way to raise a family, yet here everyone is lined up sneer at them for not being drug addicts and crack whores. I am simply astounded at the intolerance voiced here.

Most of the world is impoverished, and the population continues to grow at an increasing rate. Resources are already scarce and sporadic in their distribution.
And then here's this family having as many kids as possible because they think their big imaginary friend wants humanity to fill the planet to a state of standing-room-only.

This is a good thing. People need to realize that it's not our goal to breed until the Earth can't support any more people.

Well, we keep spending more and more money, so we need more people to come in and pay of the debt.

People can have however many kids they want, however, I just find it sad that all these kids are being brainwashed into ultra-mega-stupendous-make a Methodist blush-conservative Christianity circa 1832.

"God will decide when we stop having babies." Are you SERIOUS? Does he also need you to paint lamb blood on your doorway, sacrifice animals, and stone gays?

They don't use any kind of welfare or anything, so props there.

I do think it's wrong that the older children raise new kids as they come off the assembly line. If you made the kid, you should not outsource it.

Now you're giving me a headache.

Imagine this. If the guy's wife doesn't have such amazing child bearing abilities, he would've turned into a pedophile kidnapper like the religious sick fuck in the Garrido/Dugard case. There's something very wrong with people who don't know when to stop because of what their religion tells them.

What is interesting reading the article since Josh's (oldest Son) wife is pregnant the latest kid will be younger than grandchild that they are about to have. My hats off to them that they can do all of this without government assistance and live debt free. They even home school all there children.

What sucks about it is that none of those kids have ever been out of bible belt USA.

They have been all over.

Three.....seasons....

Josh and Anna don't know if their first child will be a boy or girl --but the Today show does! Watch as Josh and Anna are kept in the dark until it's revealed live on national television, via a special cake from the Cake Boss.

The Bates clan, a fellow mega-family from Tennessee (Gil, Kelly, and their 16 children, with another on the way), decide to pay the Duggars a visit to their new Arkansas home. The episode centers around the logistical challenges of nearly 40 people in one house, as well as the similarities and differences between the two families.

Jim Bob and Forrest Gump discover mathematical proof that life is in fact nothing like a box of chocolates.

Jana and Jill have to have their wisdom teeth removed.

Michelle discovers that 12 of her children are clones from the future, sent back with the sole purpose of erasing "18 Kids and Counting" from existence, by any means necessary.

Who the Jesus shit watches this stuff???!!?! They actually pay MONEY to get cable so that they can watch it!
