The stupidity of some people amazes (and frightens) me sometimes. Another sign that the human species is de-evolving... I can't imagine why someone would do that with children in the vehicle And I can't imagine how the risk of racing a train is ever worth it.

We have a single set of tracks down the street that so far this year alone 3 people have tried to beat the trains and lost.

Now in their defence these trains for whatever reason choose rush hour to do 30 min loadings/unloadings within a major city often blocking 3 crossings at one time.

Hell even if the 2nd train didn't get her she might have beaten the first by what, 10 feet or so

There is no such thing as "de-evolution". Humans are not the final product of evolution. Since there is no end to the evolution process, we are simply evolving (for better or for worse).

I don't think the Darwin thing applies so much here. There are too many examples of kids with awful parents that grow up to be very intelligent and responsible adults. This is just tragic. 🙁

Actually, it's a nearly perfect case of Darwinism, as not only is the lady dead, but all her offspring (and thus the potential to spread her genes) has been completely cut-off.

Still tragic for the kids, though.

many are telescopic and raise up quite high, so i think they are built quite strong. the things more like a mast than a typical vehicle antenna
 
I didn't see any evidence in the train video that the train actually hit the car. The camera is too far away and I didn't see any explosion or anything. It's possible she got lucky and missed getting creamed by the train.
