Am I the only one here who feels the need to tell this poor guy that Dell's are horrible. If you don't want to build one yourself, get a gateway. Gateways are still not good but they are 100% better than dells. Seriously, see if you can cancel it. I'm not trying to rip on your decision here, just save you from a mistake.

In the Hot Deals forum, Valvoline6 also got in on this deal, and his ship date was the same as ours, but his has since shipped!!!
Looks like we might be getting ours sooner rather than later. (Same vid card too)

Thats your opinion... I have 4 friends with dell lappys (3 with 8100, one with 4100) who love them. I bought a gateway desktop a few years ago and had nothing but problems... Both companies suck to some degree... And no, i wont cancel it...

gateway is the worst. anyone i have ever known that has a gateway has had tons of problems. i have a dell and i have had NO problems (other than WINME installed). a few of my friends and my parents have dell's and no problems either. all the comps at my ONLINE university job are dell's. if gateway was so much better don't you think we of all people would use them?

First of all (regarding reliability): bullshìt. Dell is quite possibly the most reliable computer manufacturer out there nowadays, and is definitely ahead of Gateway. Second of all, did you look and realize that he bought a laptop? Last time I checked, relatively few people build their own laptops.

Next time, read the post before you reply.

Why is everyone ordering the Radeon 7500 with their Dell i8100? Is it really that good?

How much of a performance gain is it compared to the 32MB GF?

An Inspiron 8100 with Radeon 7500 can best a P4 lappy with the Geforce. Don't flame me, I don't remember where I read it, but I think it is worth a try!

it was one of those crappy think-they-know-what-they're-talking-about market research firms... inquest i think... they benched the 7500 with dell vs the gf2go toshiba p4... the dell was even or ahead, and had better battery life.

in addition toms hardware actually swapped the 7500 for a gf2go and the 7500 whipped it in the same 8100.

<< Im gonna give em a call, cause ill have to change the shipping addy if it ships within the next 2 weeks.. The semester is almost over... >>

better do that asap, once its at the loading dock its hard for them to stop the package from getting on a truck. they know exactly where it is up to when its on the dock, then they have no clue which pallet or corner of the warehouse its in.

*not speaking for dell corp*
