Dude I got a Dell

I've been out of the computer hardware scene for a while, so I just wanted a decent gaming system to tide me over until Conroe is released.

Does this seem like a decent deal?

Highlights:

Dell XPS 600
1. Intel 3.0GHZ DC Processor
2. 2GB Ram (1GBx2)
3. Nvidia 7800GTX (256MB)
4. 160GB Hardrive
5. Creative X-fi soundcard
6. DVDROM + DVDR/RW
7. Windows MCE + Office 2K3
8. 1 year warranty

Final price shipped: 1346.70

NOTE: This was from Dell Outlet with 33% off coupon

That's a great deal, but see what you can do by building it yourself. You may or may not be able to to any better, I don't know.

Nowadays, it is nearly impossible for any DIY guy to match a Dell, Gateway/emachine, HP/Compaq deal part for part pricewise. That is a pretty good deal you have there. Maybe the harddrive is the only thing you need to upgrade in the near future.

Dude, you got a Dell. Dude, you better get an extended warranty. Good deal, but seriously, extend the warranty. 1 year is not enough.

That's an awesome deal. XPSs are some of the few prebuilts I'd consider getting.

Plus they're really sexy to behold.

I wholey agree with this. I got the 3 year on my laptop and used it 6 times I think. They had the shipper out to my house before I got off the phone with customer service one time. They also replaced any problem I had with no real questions.

Thanks for the feedback guys! I was a bit nervous since I haven't bought a Dell for personal use since ~ 1998.

About the warranty, I think 2-3 years would have been better in hindsight.
