Got the system checked because the house wasn't getting cool despite running all day. The company that performed the check can do the work for $8K, where they would install new ducts, new heatpump, and AC. We have a 1yr home warranty on it, though I doubt they will contribute much, since the system "technically" isn't broken.

Sad thing is that we just bought the condo 10months ago. 🙁 Any ideas/suggestions?
 
Sounds broken to me. Talk to your home warranty people and get a second opinion from a different company.
 
I see no good reason for them to replace your ductwork. That's a major overhaul including probably redoing nearly all your floors and/or ceiling drywall, etc. Sounds like a ripoff to me. Seek a second opinion ASAP.
 
I was planning on getting bids for it. Curious to find out if anyone had the same thing done. Ideally, the home warranty company foots the entire bill, but that's wishful thinking
