I just ordered a duct mod. However i was just wondering which way would be the best to install this. Should i connect it to my window fan, my top front fan or my top rear fan? THe only thing is the blow hole i cut with a dremel (first time) is a little big and leaves a couple of gaps around the fan. SO i would prefer to put it on one of the other ones unless there is a big difference.

Shit sorry... lol i thought i clicked on Cases Cooling, oh well i guess this has something to do with the CPU.

i would just do it on the easiest one.. Doesn't really make a difference - but you want a shorter duct job and don't put an intake near an outtake fan.. The side window fan seems like the best choice.

But remember what i said about my side window fan. Can anyone think of anyway to fix that? I already ordered from SVC so i cant stop it from coming right now. It only fits 80mm fans. Should i just order i higher speed panaflo (ie higher speed than the L1A so order a medium and if its too loud just throttle it down via fan controller).

Thanks,

I have a duct on my CPU running to the bottom front of the case. My tower is in a desk and that will allow for the coolest intake air. There is no extra fan. The fan on the CPU is all that is needed.

well im gonna keep the fan there unless im not supposed to. However i just want to know the optimal connecting. Why did you choose the bottom and not the top, simply because of the principle that cold air falls or is there another reason. Why not one of my rear fans which just happens to be right next to the processor.

As in my post, my tower is in a desk. The front is exposed to fresh air, the top is not. Besides that, there is no hole in the top. No extra fan is needed. The CPU fan does the work. Having 2 fans will just make more noise (I'm a quiet PC guy), will not cool any better, maybe worse. The idea of the duct is to give the CPU a source of outside air instead of using hot case air. Top or rear would be fine as long as it does that.

I didn't mean the top of the case. I meant the upper front fan of the 2x 80mm's. My question is which is better rear, or front. And will having it in the side blowhole make a large improvement over either.

Oh...of the two front, I doubt it will matter. Whichever is easier to run the duct. Side would be fine as long s it has the same access to cool air (my setup would not).

Well the back of my case is about 1-2 ft away from a wall so probably not the best place to go there. THe side is about 2-3ft from a wall and the front is clear. So the front would probably e the best. Also should both of the fans that im running like the CPU fan and the fan at the beginning of the duct be running at the same speed?

Cant help you there. I dont see a need for the other fan.
