DuckTales Remastered?

there is so much money to be made right now by devs who take classics from 15-20 years ago and make "modern" versions of those games. all of the people playing those games who were kids back then are now adults and have money. and we all love to feel like kids again. and the devs wouldn't even have to do much design because the games are already made for them, they just have to port em or take the ideas and work with them.

There sure is, you're right.

Problem is you have companies like Atari taking their vintage properties and rather than simply remastering them, they completely go and "reimagine" them. Look at Yars Revenge and Star Raider for prime examples... and us old farts spend our money and then go "WTF did you do?!" only to shy away from true genius like this.

Capcom though - they're hitting it out of the park. They did it with Bionic Commando (the original one, not the "new" one). Looks like they're doing it again.

yeah they did it with street fighter 4 too. they basically made the fighting genre relevant again after it being dead for a decade.

I played the original. Epic!

Back when movie / TV license games didn't suck.

Who am I kidding, back when MOST games didn't suck.

Oh, most games did suck back then too. Atari, NES, etc ALL had crapware, there were no exceptions.
Try playing the Transformers game for NES, or the XMEN game, or a number of and other licensed games.
I know you're nostalgic about games, I went through that phase too - collecting everything I could get my hands on yet rarely actually playing more than a few of the games I collected. But reality tells us that nothing has changed other than things getting more complex as far as distribution, online capability, etc are concerned.

I liked Ducktales when I was younger too, it was one of the first carts I collected when I started my collection. It may even be one I still have.
It looks great, but it is one of those games that if you've played it enough and know where everything is, how to pull off the jumps, and the layout of the levels (and which to visit in what order) it's a very short game.
I'd buy it to encourage further updates, if nothing else.
(I've bought the Ratchet & Clank and Jak & Daxter HD collections on PS3, so I am a fan of graphical updates while retaining core gameplay.)

This is actually really cools news. Ducktails was a really good platformer. While it's cool that they're remaking the game and updating the graphics, I think it would be even cooler if they released a new game in the series.

it would probably sell less if it wasn't the original game.

look at the new sonic hedgehog games of the last few years... they've been pretty amazing but any time they rehash the old stuff that's when everyone goes nuts to buy it.

Plus is Ducktales even on TV anymore? It probably wouldn't sell at all to anyone under at least 20, which would hurt sales.

Side note I loved that episode where they got that time stopper from that nerdy duck. I still dream to this day to be able to do that. I'd be more sinister than the boys were though, lol.
