there is so much money to be made right now by devs who take classics from 15-20 years ago and make "modern" versions of those games. all of the people playing those games who were kids back then are now adults and have money. and we all love to feel like kids again. and the devs wouldn't even have to do much design because the games are already made for them, they just have to port em or take the ideas and work with them.
There sure is, you're right.
Problem is you have companies like Atari taking their vintage properties and rather than simply remastering them, they completely go and "reimagine" them. Look at Yars Revenge and Star Raider for prime examples... and us old farts spend our money and then go "WTF did you do?!" only to shy away from true genius like this.
Capcom though - they're hitting it out of the park. They did it with Bionic Commando (the original one, not the "new" one). Looks like they're doing it again.
Back when movie / TV license games didn't suck.
Who am I kidding, back when MOST games didn't suck.
This is actually really cools news. Ducktails was a really good platformer. While it's cool that they're remaking the game and updating the graphics, I think it would be even cooler if they released a new game in the series.
