I'd be happy if they'd just release the rest of the series. Apparently Disney stopped one volume short on a number of DVD releases (Duck Tales, Rescue Rangers, Darkwing Duck, etc.).

That's why this stuff should never be released in volumes or seasons. I mean, who wants one and not all?!

I used to love the gritty Sonic. Even had a subscription to the Archie comics at one point, which were somewhat based on the show. It was on Netflix at one point. Wonder if it still is.

I occasionally watched the crazy version too, which is still better than anything Sega has pooped out in the last 15 years. 😀

Adventures Of Sonic is more of a guilty pleasure of mine. I watched it because I was Sonic's bitch back then and I gobbled up anything with his name on it, including the comics. The one good thing about Adventures of was how much of a pompous unapologetic douche bag Sonic could be.

And also this scene. https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=gDBCFOr6LqY#t=211
I would never be the same. 😱

I used to watch it too. If I remember correctly, it came on before Transformers in their 6AM-7AM block. I usually got picked up for school some time around 6:50AM, so I rarely got to finish the whole block. 🙁

Although, watching the Nostalgia Critic review makes me feel bad about ever watching it. Not to spoil the review, but the switch in the review from Adventures to SatAM (around 10:30) is fairly amusing. 😛

The comics came out before the show.

Oh God no. That is rough.

I know what you mean, but it's usually fun to toss out the show that makes people go 😱 followed by 😵.

After having kids, I saw the DVDs on sale. They really need to remaster these and upscale them to 16:9. I was disappointed with the quality.

???

How would you do that? You'd have to stretch (distort). That, or you'd have to crop -- removing detail from something that already has less detail than a high-def image.

Keep the original aspect ratio and just re-scan in higher resolution of you have access to the source materials...which is highly unlikely for a children's show from that era.
