Yep. I can understand trance, drum and bass and other types, but this seems to be pretty senseless. Melodic death metal can be alright if it's a song you can actually understand the lyrics of. WTF is the point of all the stupid screaming in music where you can't make out WTH the singer is saying? No, it's not "hardcore". It's lame.

personally i only listen to dubstep when i don't want to have to think, as it's rather mindless. death metal and black metal are my go to genre's when i want music that requires active listening. also dub goes much better for blasting from your cars stereo, if your windows aren't vibrating, you're doing it wrong

I am listening to Nero as we speak - I really like their stuff. You might want to check out 'Guilt' and 'Me and You' by Nero as well. IIRC they are more of a cross between 'Drum and Bass' and Dubstep

I will agree on the "obnoxiously loud" part though, at least as far as compression goes. Most metal is very fatiguing to listen to, but I still find a way to tolerate it because I like it so much.

i have very little respect for symphonic. sure there are a few good bands (hermh), but for the majority they're recycled crap, just like
