Anyone can hook up their computer and make some beats. It takes actual talent to play musical instruments. I have very little respect for any sort of synthesized "music".

That's absurd. Anyone can take a music sheet and place notes all over it. That doesn't make them a composer. Any genre of music can be awesome synthetic or otherwise. It all depends on the musicians behind the music.
 
How is this different than the endless trance/techno I listened to 7-10 years ago? Sounds just the same.

Counter Strike Source makes the same noise as what you call "music" when I alt tab in and out of it. If a game can make "music" without even trying to, I'm pretty sure anyone can.

My point is that some idiot smacking a spoon on a trashcan doesn't sound like Neil Peart, Danney Carey, or John Bonham.
