I'll be here for the week doing my CCNA bootcamp. Anyone from the area that could point me in the direction of things to do.

It's not everyday that you see a thread with the title of the town you live.
I don't even know where to start.

What do you like to do?

Do you want to go to bars? What type? Club, Irish, small, etc?
Are you looking for shopping?
Are you looking for good restaurants?

There is nothing spectacular in Dublin, but it is one of the nicest suburbs around Columbus.

Not sure, im just bored sitting here in my hotel room (hilton)

The television selection sucks and the internet is kinda slow. I'm really just looking for something to do. There isnt a bar here in the hotel so thats out. Its a beautiful area, I'm just not a city kinda guy.

I just ordered a pizza so food for today is out, but im up for other things.

Do you have transportation?

There are two local malls that are really nice.

The Mall at Tuttle Crossing is like 5min. from you. It is at the Tuttle Crossing exit, right off 270 (outer belt).
The other one is the Polaris Fashion Place Mall, and is about 15min. North/East of you.
You have to take 270 North, then 71 North get there.
Polaris is larger and nicer, and has many more restaurants.

There are a bunch of really nice restaurants in downtown Dublin, if your company is picking up the bill.

I have a rental paid for by my company, my credit card that will be reimbursed by my company.

I just tried a Max and Erma here yesterday and it was nice, like a smaller applebees. I'd kinda like a red lobster or something else with good seafood.

There isn't terribly much to do in Dublin entertainment wise. However, you aren't too far from the OSU campus if you want to do some sight seeing. Also, if you are willing to drive across town, you can find another mall called Easton.

Of course, if you really want to live dangerously, drive around Franklinton at night :p

I was down there last week. The Polaris mall place (exit...121 from I-71) is beautiful, although I'm not sure if that's Dublin - but it should be close.

Just a bit. 53% of the population there is below the poverty line. It's not too far from Dublin either. Interestingly, it's also majority white by a decent margin.

Oh man, head south about 1/2 Mile, and turn left on Tuttle Crossing Blvd.
You are closer to Tuttle Mall than I thought.

That's because of the makeup of the area right by Easton. You have really nice areas like Gahanna(where I live), Bexley, and New Albany surrounded by really crappy suburban slums(Morse Road past Easton, any side of Bexley, etc). Bexley is the biggest example of this, as in some parts of Bexley you can have a multimillion dollar home less than half a mile away from the Ghetto.

Columbus is weird in that poverty is mostly mixed in within the city. You have pockets of bad areas, but really huge bad areas like Franklinton are more of an exception rather than the rule.

I work up in Dublin as well, there's lots of little pubs and bars and that sort of thing if thats what you are interested in. What kinds of things besides the shopping were you hoping to find?

same.

Dunno if you've been back now, but they built a mini mall of sorts apts/shops on the opposite side of the street. Dublin is just your typical expensive suburb for the most part...

For things to do read
