When one installs win2000 in the second partion (with ME on C: )does one need to reinstall all the programs that they already loaded under windows. The would be a real minus if I had to redo MS office etc.
It depends on the programs but in most cases, yes. By the way, why is it a minus if you have to reinstall the MS Office? It only takes a couple of minutes in my case.
Well, yes and no. If you are going to do an upgrade, it will depend on the program. If you are planning an upgrade, you will have to re-install Office. If you are planning on dual-booting between the two OSes, then you will have to install all of the applications that you will need on Windows 2000.
Shadow is pretty much correct. You will need to install some of the programs in both places, but if the program itself does not need to add things to your registry and is basically a stand alon application or file, you will not need to re-install it. But in general, you will have to re-install.
