I've just moved, and my new place has both cable and DSL installed. I'm thinking of building a Linux router that could actually use both connection (do load balancing and fail-over). I know there are dedicated routers that will do this job out of the box, but I could not justify spending $200, when I have several old PC's laying around unused.
So is there any mini linux distro's (like IPCop) or freeBSD (like monowall) that can do this "out of the box"? Or if there isn't, could someone tell me how this could be done?
I have moderate knowledge of Linux, and have build my own Linux router in the past.
