Dual Video with an LCD and CRT

JD50

Lifer
I currently have a Samsung 990DF CRT monitor, X2 3800 cpu, and a nVidia 7800 GT graphics card and I mainly play World of Warcraft. I am looking into getting a second monitor so I can have a dual video display. I don't want to buy two new monitors right now, so I want to still use my CRT with a new LCD. Which LCD monitor would you reccommend? Also, I would like to get a second LCD monitor sometime within the next 6 months to replace my current CRT, prefferably the same as the one I will be getting now for the dual video. Any suggestions?

Your asking a rather large question without any parameters. There are several dozen monitors that are all very good at certain things...

I would check out the thread "LCD Buyer's Guide" at the top of this forum to get a general overview of the market and technologies

Then maybe post around how much you would like to spend and what quality are the most important to you...

Well, I'm hoping to keep it under $300. I guess I didn't clarify, I want something that will work well with my current monitor, and eventually be my main monitor. I mainly play World of Warcraft, and occasionally Battlefield 2. So for now it is just going to be an extra screen for regular apps/internet since WoW doesnt support dual video. How important is it to have the same monitor and/or settings when running a dual video setup?

Viewsonic VX924, Viewsonic VP930B, Samsung 940B are tops monitor.

I believe buy.com has the VX924 for 300... or one of them stores did.
