The PR ratings are not inflated. They are based on the Celeron instead of the P4 like the XP PR ratings do. So the Sempron it to be compared to the Celeron and the XP is to be compared to the P4.

Yes, I know that the cache is low, but think of the number crunching power. I could export video sweet fast. The 2200+ Semprons are only going for about $45ish, so I'll have two processors that'll overclock to about 2400+ speeds (Barton that is) for the price of one barton.

Bump for interest in trying to do dual opteron. Still haven't heard of a single person doing dual Sempron on all of Google.

Ain't gonna happen because it doesn't have the coherent HT link needed. Even if it was there but disabled it would be as impossible for end-users to enable as HT proved to be on the older P4s.

Pretty sure the dual semperon 3100 (socket 754 version) is impossible for several reasons. As mentioned only the opterons have the extra HT link for connecting the 2 processors together enabled. Additionally I beleive the sock754 dispenses with the pins needed for that so the socket doesn't even have the connectors for the HT link. If you could enable the HT link on a socket 940 althon 64 you could probably get it working but no clue how to do that. For a socket 939 I think it might be possible, since I'm assuming minimal changes from a socket 940 but since the only supported dual processor is the socket 940 only opterons I doubt a socket 939 dual processor board exsists.
