Dual Processors...

What's the biggest benefit for running dual processors as opposed to a single? What are some advantages/disadvantages?

the OS can offload processes to each processor making multitasking much more efficient. Hyperthreading sort of does this to a degree. Two processors won't make a game or single application faster though, I don't think.

it will however the app has to be written to take advantage of the second processor, if it is not then its useless

Some apps like Photoshop and Max run alot better with dual processors. I doubt any games support dual processing though, so the extra processor would be a little useless for just gaming.

Interesting question: Does hyper-threading affect gaming at all then?

yes but not as much as you would think less then 10% IIRC

and the AMD CPUS kill almost all of the Intell ones for gameing anyway

If you do anything intensive, the second CPU really makes the machine feel sooooo much snappier. Multitasking rules on dual CPU machines.
