Nothing there about a write protect jumper. I haven't read anything about the bios being in a ROM chip, but I know a friend of mine (who has the same board) was able to flash his with no problems. On the other hand, his also works with two chips....so who knows.

Well of course the BIOS is in a FlashROM chip, guess why it can be flashed

If that board's BIOS has been screwed up before and replaced with a new one that has the right content but is the wrong chip model, then it'll work again but not be flashable anymore. The reason is that FlashROMs are read compatible, but write algorithms differ.
