what are the dual processor systems available for today's consumer home/business pc market?

What is the INtel Xeon processors main purpose?
 
only useful for workstation apps that are dual threaded or doing heavy multitasking

amd opteron and intel xeon, now i think opterons are the best bet

**IF** the price is reasonable, this will be my next home PC. Granted, the overall cost may force me to only put on Opteron 250 in it. 🙂 Early indications claim that the PSU may not handle two 250s.
