Alright I did a little interent research, but I didnt get a definitive solution... Can you run dual Athlon XP processors on any exsisting motherboard? If so, which and how much of an improvement would you expect to obtain over a convential system? Currently I have a ECS K7VTA3 - Athlon 1800xp - 512mb of Crucial pc2700- MSI g4 4200 - 2 60GB 7200rpm Maxtor's. Thanks for any help

If the motherboard supports dual processors and says XP processors then yes it will run them. Don't expect to get double the output from your machine though.

Dual processors are mostly for CAD programs, Photoshop etc. You'd probably be just as well off with 512+MB of ram as opposed to Dual Processors, but depends on what you are doing. If your running some kind of folding project that can be run on dual processors, then you might consider going that route.

If the programs supports dual processors, then yes...if not it will act as if only one processor is being used

And a question -I thought to use dual athlons you need Athlon MPs - not Athlon XPs
