I can't dial internet service or any dial. whenever I dial, it logins and automatically hang up the modem right way. I didn't have that problem if I use one processor. Is there problem with the mother board or the win2K operating system. I replaced diffrent modem but it still the same problem.
I use MB Tyan 1832 with PII 400 dual.
Are there any sugestion? any help will be aprreciated.

Did you install Win2K with both processors in? Win2K uses a different HAL for a dual processor configuration. Look at your device manager.....it should say something about Dual CPU as the Computer Type.

While you're checking on the dual cpu listing in the device manager, check if your 2 cpu have the same stepping #.

Intel recommends that the dual CPU's be of the same speed and stepping.
More importantly, they recommend installing the OS with both processors installed (as pointed out above) - later you can remove one.
🙂

Just as a side note, if you add the flag '/ONECPU' in the boot.ini file, you can disable the 2nd CPU without having to crack open the case.
