OK ive been hearing a lot about dual ps's, but how do you make them work? i mean lets say one controls the system, the other a buttload of fans and a peltier......how do you make them work syncronously? cause you cant hook up both to the mobo......
i mean, when you turn on one (the mobo one), how does the other ps know to turn on?

You would need to get an AT powersupply with a switch directly connected to it so you can turn it on manually without using the Motherboard. This is how my friend has it setup in his server. He wired the switch to a Com port slot in the back of the case and can switch it on during bootup.

Theres actually quite a many ways = )

i myself am currently using a second AT supply which is a very easy way of doing it. Just turn on the 2nd PSU by switch...

You can also mod an ATX to do the same thing, by conecting one of the wires (green i belive) to the ground, and adding your own switch...

The third and most confusing way is to ouple the two atx PSU's so you turn the whole unit on from the Mobo, but get the powerof two PSU's...

Which application you choose will depend mainly on your know-how, available supplies, and usage, however if it's just for a whole bunch of fans, i suggest the AT since it's pretty cheap to pick up an AT PSU...

If you want to look into modding an ATX or coupling, visit (virtualhideout.net) they have rally in depth guides and how-to's...
