Dual P3 1u rackmount :)

not bad...is it new or used, because the case looks unscrewed in the photo...

Also, what exactly does it include?

here's what you get

Dual P3/100mhz FSB upto to 800mhz (8x100)
U160
4 DIMMS 100mhz Memory to 1GB
onboard 4mb VGA card
dual Network card
some serial, some USB, 2 PS/2's

to be honest. the case alone is worth $100. The mb is so/so but you have to find some CPU's to throw in them and they are gonna cost some $$$ as you can't use the normal 133FSB cpu's..going to post this to 2cpu and see what they say.

Hehe
already posted it over there 🙂

and already put in order in for 2 of em 🙂

Also I just double checked the specs and there is no SCSI or USB ports on this model motherboard

Comes with:
Case
PSU
Floppy Drive
4mb agp video controller up to 1600x1200 (64k colors)
dual 10/100 ethernet controllers
1 serial port
1 ps/2 port
2x udma 33 IDE ports
lcd display in front

Barebones but still cheap to build... It has the following:
2 PCI slots
support for 2 socket-370 Cel 400-500, flip-chip p3 up to 850.
4 dimm sockets for pc100 sdram (up to 1gb)
intel 440bx chipset
award bios

Simply add a CPU or two, memory, and a hard drive and you have a 1U system for possibly <$200

[EDIT]:BigDady92: your post is inaccurate.. supports up to p3 850, NO U160 (scsi), and NO USB.

I've been thinking about setting up some rack mounted equipment for space saving and organization purposes.. but I cant find any smaller racks anywhere. Any suggestions on where to look?

I know, I know- "I wanna"
I just figured some of you might know.
And this p3 setup looks like a pretty good deal.

Does anyone know how big a hard drive i can add to this? Isn't there a bios limitiation? Any ideas on adding a better IDE controller?
And finally, how many drives can i fit in this?

Thanks in advance

Try here for a good place for rack mount cases 🙂

Not sure about hard rive size but it looks like there is only mounting for one drive although there is plenty
of room along the side for one or two more

You should have no problems adding an IDE controller since there are 2 PCI slots

heres a pic of the inside of the case

i called in and ordered one. i have 2 400mhz celerons on a flaky abit bp6 on its last legs. they will have a new home soon.
