Dual Optical Mouseman double scrolling issues

has anyone ever had problems with the logitech dual optical mouseman where anything will double scroll... and i don't mean just in games.. i know there's a game patch out there for that.. but it doesn't resolve anything... when i was on win2k.. i kept messing around with it till it got fixed... no scrolling problems.. but now i just installed xp and that problem is back and won't go away.. i emailed logitech and of course, they just give me the run around.... it double scrolls in games, acdsee, fill out form scroller things, etc. i'd really appreciate any info on this.

say you have some images listed as 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, etc.. with acdsee, you can scroll through every image.. now a double scroll is when it'll skip every other image so it will go 1, 3, 5, etc.. also.. in games it'll skip every other weapon... or in fill out forms.. you know when you have the drop down box highlighted you can scroll through the different choices, it'll also skip every other choice.... basically it's just scrolling twice.
