dual monitors

I've ran dual monitors several times over the past few years. I recently wanted to start doing it again however it's not near as easy as before, or so it seems.

I have a 20" LCD and 17" LCD. I have a 9600GT. Win XP.

The way I used to enable dual monitors was plugging both displays up to the video card and then going to properties via wallpaper and then the 'settings' tab where there it would show both displays. It had the two boxes saying 'use this device as the primary monitor' and extend my windows desktop onto this monitor. I could click on either one and setup whatever resolution I wanted(within the monitor specs). I then used ultramon to customize everything to my liking.

I don't see those two options anywhere on the settings tab. I've screwed with the nview shit and it's caused nothing but frustration.

What gives?

huh? have both monitors plugged in, and restart, if it still doesnt come up, try to completely remove the drivers and reinstall them (both monitors plugged in).

plug both in, turn on pc, go to display properties, settings, control everything from there.

if that doesn't work on XP, then you have another problem, most likely driver?

You have to reload the driver again, for the second monitor. And use the same Nvidia driver for both monitors.
Check Device Manager to see that both drivers are loaded.
Get rid of Nview! Yeah, Ultramon.
