ZL1, stop trying to perpetuate an argument that's already dead.

Some PCI video cards are not compatible as secondary video cards, such as the ATI Rage series. I wanted to buy my friend's Rage AIW, but according to ATI it will not function as a secondary card, only primary. Radeon cards don't suffer from this problem.

and what am I to do when someone insults me ? just let it go ?
just look at it from my side, he didnt assume it could have been a hardware related problem, he just went ahead and assumed it was a human error (in quite and offensive way, by ridiculing me)

P.S. Im not looking to pick a fight, I dont do that, if you check my other posts you will see I always try to maintain a very positive mood in my posts

Yes, that's a good idea! :D I didn't even see it as an insult, even when I reread it in a bad mood. People who ridicule others aren't liked anyway. :p

to ridicule someone implies a low opinion about that someone
to insult has the same thing in its definition

Agreed, but those who ridicule/insult aren't liked!

This thread has gone way OT. MAME, what PCI card are you using? I'm actually using 3 monitors. I have 2 "main" monitors on my Ti4200 and I have a Matrox PCI video card for my 3rd monitor. I never have a problem playing games, and my AGP card is always the main screen.

Edit: Oops, I reread and see you got it working via bios, nice! :D

Hahaha, crazy kids.

Yeah, I got my banshee maxi phoenix pci card to work as the secondary in bios but starcraft doesn't keep the mouse locked on it for some reason. So if I go too far on the side, it pops out to the other montior, doh!

ZL1 if you took my reply's as an insult then that's your problem because I has a ;) after it and you were wrong with your 1st reply to begin with :
all your probs are cuz dual wasnt intended for gaming
and because the pci card is always the main card in a dual card system consisting of a pci and agp card
So yes please let it go, have a , and move on because there is no apology coming.

MAME, does it do it in any other game or just Starcraft? I've never played it (I'm the worst evar RTS player) so I don't have a point of reference. Since it's an old game that came out before dual monitors were more popular, Blizzard may not have allowed for it.

I have a ATI Raedon AIW 9700 Pro in my AGP slot and some old 32mb Nvidia PCI video card. I can hook them both up just fine but the video capture drivers will not operate on the AIW card when I do this. Anyone know how to fix this? I haven't been home to try to set the AGP card to primary in BIOS, maybe that will fix it?

I'm almost certain that the ATI Site states that the AIW has to be the promary card for the capture to work and mine is (AIW9700 Pro)with 2 PCI vid cards and it (capture) works fine.

Sweet, hopefully my MB allows me to change this. I hadn't even thought of changing the primary video card, but it is quite obvious that the PCI is primary by default since the AGP card doesn't come on until windows starts loading... Thanks!

Generally BIOS will only tell you which display is initiated first. This is the card you will see the POST and other detection screens prior to the windows loading screen. When I reinstalled XP this week it defaulted to my PCI card being the primary card. After installing drivers for my Ti4200 I was able to go into display properties and check "use this as my primary display" (or something like that) on my main monitor. I then checked "extend my desktop to this display" on the other monitors and all was back to normal. :)

Now I have a conflict between the control panels on each video card. When my computer boots up with both control panels (ATI and Nvidia), the ATI one shuts down and gives me an error report. I would like to keep both control panels, but definitely the ATI one since it is my main video card. The nvidia control panel does not have a seperate uninstall like the ATI one, it is built into the driver. I have tried uninstalling the driver and just manually selecting the driver file only but XP just reinstalls everything automatically when I reboot after uninstalling the Nvidia driver. Any help on this one?? Thanks!
