I bought a DVI Splitter recently and I also have a Philips Ambilight 37" LCD TV with an HDMI input. From that splitter I have a DVI to HDMI cable. I also have the other dvi cable running to my 2001FP dell 20.1" monitor. I am running the res at 1024x768. I wanted both screens to show the same thing at the same time.

I cannot get this working for some reason, it either comes on one screen or the other.

Would I be better off going with a dual monitor setup converting the VGA out on my 9800 pro to dvi and then dvi to hdmi to the tv and using the dvi on the 9800 pro to go to the monitor?
I haven't tried using the VGA to DVI converter yet.

Any info or help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

VGA to DVI-D would not work well. You can do DVI-I to VGA easily, but not the other way around unless the monitor can take analog off a DVI-I signal.

I think you might be better off getting a new videocard with dual DVI output and just running it in clone mode.

EDIT: Or just use VGA to connect the 2001FP?

The simple way would be to hook up your computer monitor to VGA and your TV to DVI or HDMI whichever it takes. Then put the graphics card into Clone mode rather than extend mode.
