Dual Monitors: They make monitors without borders?

The crack/border between my two monitors is quite annoying. Do they make monitors with borders less than 1cm thick?

I have seen specially-made displays built for 'video wall' use that have very thin borders. I would wager they are expensive.

You can also get panels with no border, but those are more for installation purposes, or for building into devices, rather than for use as a desktop display. And again, likely expensive.

I always thought it would be cool if you could define the boarder in your video card. Instead of picking up at the exat spot on the next monitor, it would not draw the amount of your 2 boarders combined. It would be cool for programs like MilkDrop. Make it seem you are looking through a window.

Well of course it's possible, look at any news channel these days.

But for commercial purposes, the bezel will always be there. Even the customize multi-monitor companies out there that like to show off 3 or more monitors on a single desk, have monitors with bezels.

Is there no commercially available monitor for purchase?

I just wanna see one, the specs, the price, etc... Wanna know what kinda change I'll need to chalk up.

If you know a good CAD person who likes you, or needs money, they could design you a custom frame that would put the panels up tight, with only a small amount of metal in between. You could then take the plans to any machine shop, who could make the parts you need for a fee. I used to work for a custom computer manufacturer and anything is quite possible.
