Dual monitors.....dual vid cards

Anyone have any experience running 2 video cards (1 AGP, and 1 PCI, or 2 PCI) in XP?

If so.......

I will (depending on responses here😉) be setting up dual video cards and dual monitors.

My first card is the Hercules GF2 GTS 64MB AGP, and the second one (TBA) will be PCI based and prolly GF2 quality or thereabouts😀

Will XP allow me to install both driver sets for the 2 video cards? Or will it crap out? I already have the GF2 GTS running smoothly and I would like to add the second card (the PCI).

Any suggestions y'all😉

should be ok

i've been running multiple monitors on 98 / 2k for years

my roomate ran 1 agp / 1 pci card on his winxp system for a couple months....

sometimes, certain cards don't interact well with each other, hence the popularity of "dualhead" cards such as the matrox g400, etc.

but most of the time it works just fine. i'd suggest installing you're primary card (i.e. one you want 3d playback with) and then install the drivers for it

then, add the second card and let xp find it's native drivers for that card. you won't have 3d support with the second card, but games aren't played across multiple screens anyway...plus, you won't get xp confused with which drivers go where...it does it automatically

TY for your help!

Your description of the process is exactly what I thought it would be😀

I appreciate your comments😉
