Dual Monitor Prob

I have a Geforce 4 video card with a regular video out plugged into my tv and I also have my monitor plugged into the regular spot. what I am trying to figure out is if I can make two separate desktops. One on the TV and one on the Monitor. instead of stretching it to either one or the other. right now when I run something on the tv I want the program to keep running on the tv but intead it will run it on my monitor.how can I make the two desktops. (including two different taskbars)

You'll have to run Linux for something like that.

Other than full-screen games and video-overlay programs (some media players, for instance), you should be able to move a program window from one screen to the other without any problems.
