Could you tell a noticeable difference between VNC and RDP on the same connection? I hope so, because I'm about to switch jobs and I get a new workstation with XP Pro on it. :)
Sure could. Much quicker, full screen capability with no speed difference, and much smoother.
Were either of you using the latest version (v1.0.0 RC18) or the mirror driver? Only ask as I have never had a speed issue with those implemented.

I'm using UltraVNC v100 RC18....is there something I'm missing in the configuration?

The above mentioned mirror driver significantly aids the speed and drops the processor utilization down to nearly nothing. It is a separate implementation, and is not included in the ultr@vnc installation.

The link above has directions for installation of the driver. The main page has download locations for the driver (at the bottom of the page).

Have a compressed archive of all the wallpapers in the Pleonastic directory. 48.6MB.

Will host the archive, but will not publically post the URL due to the size of the file.

I use RD to my desktop at home so I can download TV torrents when I'm at school working late and missing a show.

I can zip them all up. It's about 100 megs total.

Having 3 monitors, one hooked up to a mac, windows PC, Linux PC and controlling each with only one mouse and keyboard (and NO KVM) using Synergy, is even cooler. :D

It's like having a multimonitor desktop on one system (mouse just moves across them like it would normally), but each monitor is a different platform and no limited frame rate like VNC/RDC.
