Dual Monitor PCI Video Card? (analog)

edro

Lifer
I need to run a dual monitor display on a laptop that uses a docking station. The dock has a built in PCI slot. I am guessing you can run a video card in it.

Any video cards that are PCI and run dual display, and both outputs need to be analog out?

Thanks!

I found this: Geforce FX 5200 PCI Dual Monitor

i dont think you need anything that nice to run just another monitor from a laptop docking station im not sure how your laptop works but a generic geforce 4 mx400 pci or something should do the job just fine

Hi Zucarita,

I am hoping to pick you brains some as I have been googling my problems and your posts on this forum are frequently returned as results due to your signature!!

I have a Matrox G450MMS PCI and am trying to get it working on a XP Pro system with an existing agp card (GeForce FX5700 dual head) and with SP2 installed... I simply cannot install the drivers as they say that they are for a previous version of windows, it seems that the problem could be related to the change in the windows version number after applying either SP2 or some of the hotfixes. I have tried to install the drivers on another system of the same specification with a fresh XP Pro install and it worked great!
I was just wondering what version drivers you are using on your system?

Thank you for taking the time to read this, any help is greatly appreciated,

Mike

thats one thing about maxtrox, nice hardware, terrible drivers. if you get an old card from matrox you better intend to use it on windows nt or 98.

Woo Hoo... I managed to get it working in the end!

Just incase anyone else gets stuck like I did then here's how I fixed it:

- remove any nVidia drivers (let it go to windows XP default drivers temporarily)
- remove any Matrox drivers using the powerdesk removal tool (http://www.matrox.com/mga/supp...s/files/ftp_util2.cfm))
- install the Matrox 5.93 drivers (http://www.matrox.com/mga/supp...ivers/latest/home.cfm))
- reboot Windows (mine worked at this point!)
- reinstall nVidia drivers (Mine is working with 66.93 nVidia drivers)

I hope that this helps someone =)
