I have four slots for my memory sticks. The 2 bank is filled. The 1st bank is under the CPU fan. I purchased an additional 8GBs to install on my new computer and was wonder if I can stick it in a slot 3 or 4 that is free and can be access with out removal of the fan. Will it work if I install it in bank 3 to achieve dual memory channeling to increase performance?
Found out it is particular to each motherboard setup so; it kind of exclusive to each manufacturer. So I think I need to take the hard way; and just read the hardware installation manual. Ugh!

P.S.: Most manufacturer color match their memory slot making it simple to set up dual channel configuration unless you are color blind that is. Just put in the second stick in the same color slot!
