Are DVD movies created on dual layer DVD recorders playable on set top DVD players? (ie: both layers)

Thanks.

Yes and maybe, they should be playable on dvd players, however a recent review in maximum pc said that dual layer recorded dvdr discs are not as compatible with set top players as +r or -r single layer, so the answer to your question is "yes they fundamentally will work" but "maybe, because they might not work on your current dvd player"

I think the bigest problem at the moment is layer switching, not sure if any software supports making a movie and getting the jump between layers right. This is where the problem lies with dual layer.
