Dual in-line memory Question

I have an AMD XP 2000+ and A7N8x-Deluxe mobo (which supports dual in-line memory configuration). I just purchased two sticks of Kingston 512mb 2700 DDR memory. I put the identical chips in slots 1 and 3.

Do I have to configure the dual in-line memory, or is it automatic.

Oh and I'm getting a new AMD 2500+ Barton cpu, which I'll OC to 3200+, 21" monitor, and an Saphire ATI 9800 Pro 128mb video card so I'll be ready for DOOM 3 and Half-life2. It's gonna be sweet!😎

You mean dual channel? Just put one stick in slot 1 and the other in either 2 or 3 and it should work fine. Dual channel doesn't really help Athlon systems much. Why didn't you get PC3200 memory? That way you wouldn't have to worry about the RAM limiting your overclock.
