Dual HT Pentium 4?

I tried running Knoppix on my Parent's comp today...when I reached the memory and processor info screen (those of you who have used knoppix before will know)...it said something like this:

Processor(0) is Intel (R) Corporation Pentium 4 (R) 3.0 GHZ 2998MHZ 512KB cache
Processor(1) is Intel (R) Corporation Pentium 4 (R) 3.0 GHZ 2998MHZ 512KB cache

I always thought you couldn't have dual Hyper-Threading P4s...but then I checked in the BIOS and it said Hyper-Threading was turned on...so now I'm confused...how is this possible?

Enabeling Hyperthreading -> OS see the processor as two seperate processors.

UUUUUUHHHH...

what do you mean? 😕 Hyper-threading is SUPPOSE to say "2 processors" But there is really only one physical processor. My comp says the same thing.

That is perfectly normal.

HT allows the OS to "see" 2 physical processors, even though there is only 1.

Now if you saw four processors that would be a story.
