Dual Head Card with 2 ramdecks

I am looking to hook up a 19" inch and a 15" to one video card. I need this for space and work issues. I need to be able to run two different resolutions on the two monitors, so I believe that would require the card to have 2 ramddecks. Can anyone make a suggestion? I would be willing to go Radeon 8500, GF3, or GF4 if it is sub $300. 64MB or 128MB does not matter that much.

i suppose you mean RAMDACs and not ramdecks. Any Dual Head Matrox Card will do it, g400, g450, g550, and i think just about all gf4s will do it, but you might need to get a DVI to 15 pin d-sub connector as most gf4 cards, the Ti ones at least, have a DVI and a 15 pin d-sub analog connector. just depends on if you really want to play games or not. Some ATI cards also have HyrdaVision wich is their Dual Head like technology [Dual Head is Matrox specific]

Radeon 7000 aka VE, 7500, and 8500 cards can do that too. 7200 cannot! Then there's SiS Xabre fresh in, when combined with SiS' own "301" secondary display companion can drive a second head, either TV, DVI or VGA.

Especially with the 7000 and 7500, there is a wide selection of cards with all kinds of display combinations. My current favorite for dual head productivity is PowerColors RV2LE, a fanless Radeon 7500LE with VGA, TV, and DVI-I (2nd VGA through DVI-VGA adapter). If you want to play games, aim higher.

regards, Peter
