My next video card will be dual DVI for sure. I expect no less...especially if I'm gonna shell out $200+

neutral, i'd like it but it has no impact on my buying decision

I don't currently have any monitors that would take advantage of DVI, let alone 2, but should I get 2 decent enough monitors that have DVI, I would like to have a graphics card with dual DVI to take best advantage of the displays.

At this point for me, it would be nice, but is not important. It could be a way for nVidia and ATi to further differentiate themselves by adding this "feature". Just don't forget, just because nVidia uses dual DVI on their NV40 reference board doesn't mean their OEMs have to do the same.

Can you add : DVI + analog , because some times I need analog to configure Linux, afterwhich I'm able to switch back to DVI. Also needed for KVM's when installing multiple systems.

i saw a 5700 ultra but i was unfarmilar with the maker and it had a steep price.

if you want DVI,you want it for an LCD,and if your LCD has DVI chances are it also has VGA. you can switch between the LCD inputs. so basically hook up the main PC via dual DVI and just the KVM PS2, then hook the rest up to the LCD's VGA input via the KVM. the end :)

You could also use a DVI to VGA adapter which comes with just about every mid to high end retail and even many OEM's. You can also buy them for like 8 bucks or something at newegg. So no real need for DVI plus VGA since u can just use DVI as VGA...

You don't need it for anything really. The reason many (including myself) want it is for dual LCDs.

I bought a dual DVI-I card for use with a CRT and LCD together, with the CRT to be updated to LCD later.

The VGA quality from the DVI-I card was completely unusable, even with new cables. Since I didn't want to spend the cash on a second LCD at that point, I exchanged the card for one with DVI and VGA.

IOW, it seems that some of the companies making dual DVI-I cards are really scrimping on the analogue quality.

Oooo, that's not good. I was planning to do the same thing you did (CRT + LCD) on a dual DVI-I card. :(

I'd prefer Dual-DVI over one DVI and one VGA. While at the time I am just using one monitor, the Dell 2001FP 20.1" LCD (DVI), if I had the money I would easily get another one, and if not that model, a smaller DVI monitor. Without the DVI, I'd have to use VGA, and DVI quality is much better then VGA, so why not? No, its not needed, but I'd like it.

Dangit, I meant to say that I dislike DVI. I still use CRTs and likely will until LCDs become very affordable. I have one DVI port on my Ti4200 and the DVI plug (I use a DVI -> VGA adapter) is more of a chore to deal with. I know I'm in the minority as many people like LCDs, but you asked how I felt, and that's it. :)

Same here. I can get a 19" monitor for $150-200 that gives just as good if not better performance than the $800 LCDs. I'm very happy with my Samsung 955DF and since I have the desktop room.. it's staying there for a while :)

i'm hoping this becomes the "new standard" for high end video cards. if the nv6800's are any representation, the future is looking good.

hopefully the price can come down to a reasonable level as when they do.... i'm dumping the cash for dual DVI 20' LCD's :D ohh yeah baby 3200x2400 never looked so good!

Why do you (or anyone) want dual lcd's? just curious

Think McFly......think! That's like asking why anyone would want a dual (crt) monitor setup. LCD's take up less space, use less power, have (near) perfect geometry, and are easier on your eyes. While dual setups aren't for everyone, extending your desktop across two monitors is the perfect solution for those who need to get more work done in less time.

Dual??? pah! How about this:
Tri-LCD powered by Parhelia - at a LAN party :D

But dual DVI-I would be nice for the future when I finally go LCD. It 100% gets my vote!
