Dual DVI ATI-based card

I just read about this here PowerColor X800XL card on the Inquirer...

It says it has "Dual DVI." Is that what's needed to drive that Apple 30" LCD that everyone was going goo-goo-gah-gah about earlier?

not sure but i think you need a special 6800 ultra ... might be wrong though

Nevermind... It appears "Dual Link" and "Dual DVI" aren't the same thing.

Dual link means the connection uses more pins, it's not the same as just having two DVI connections.

You're correct; they are not the same thing. Dual-link DVI connections use all 24 signal pins instead of 12, or something like that. Basically it doubles the bandwidth of the signal, and in general these connections are only found on really expensive workstation cards.
