There are 3 different Quad Core Xeons available at NCIX vs only 1 Kentsfield version.
Intel Xeon E5310 Quad Core 1.6GHZ LGA771 8MB 1066FSB - $600 Cdn, which is half the price of the Kentsfield Quad...
Some of the dual socket 771 motherboards don't cost much more than at Asus Striker Extreme...
FBDIMM ram is expensive, but not all that more expensive than the top end OC'ing regular DDR2 ram right now.
Something I'm seriously considering.
I do a lot of video rendering which fully utilizes every core. It will probably cost less than hardcore gamer's rigs since I can get away with a low-level video card.
"You'll never need more than 640KB of RAM." - think of that when someone tells you more cores are useless, lol.
