dual display help?

Hey. I have a 9800 pro. It has 1 dvi, 1 rgb vga and 1 s-video. I've tried dual monitors before but they've both had to run at the same resolution. I'm just curious if I bought This would I be able to run it at the same time via the s-video input on my video card and just move media player over there so i can always see it? Or would there be a conflict between my samsung 710T's native resolution of 1280/1024 and this little screens resolution of 960/234.

Thanks in advance, Graeme

UltraMon, my favorite tool for dual screen goodness. Plus, only program I have that actually does a good job with dual screen wallpapers. I'm fairly sure Windows will let you run the two resolutions, but it's functionality is iffy at best. I'm not sure if you can hit that exact resolution via S-Video, but you will at least be able to put out a scalable rez.

My NVIDIA cards have always done it with no problems, I can't imagine the ATI cards would be any different? I used to run 1 17 @ 1280x1024 and a 2nd 15" @ 1024x768. I have 2 17s now, but I did it before no problem, and have a 15" and TV on my HTPC.

It could be, but I mean, you can pick up a $15 monitor for a lot less than that. Even a 17" from someone for $50 or so.

It will just be standard 480i output from the card and 480i input for the display, so resolution support should be no issue. Theater mode in regular Catalyst drivers should handle the media player output fine if basic overscan on/off is all you require. "VHS" PQ on a 5" display could be OK depending on the application. You'll need a composite adaptor, output from your soundcard, and power for the display ect.

I don't care about the sound on that monitor....i just want media player to stay open on it so i dont have to always open windows and whatnot to select songs and such
