Hello, I just replaced my 256x2 kingston DDR400 ram (running dual in my intel mobo).. .This ram has been working fine for 2.5years (?)

I repaced it with some other ram that works fine in my new mobo.

I have since put this dualddr ram into my fileserver, but only running in single mode. So far into memtest86, I haven't found an error in the ram. (granted I am only 1hour into it)

Does this sound normal? because I know some ram will not run in dual mode.. so maybe the ram just got out of sync?

(by the way, I found ~10errors in my ram in 1.5hours when it was in dualddr config in my main rig (main rig is 2x faster also)

what do you'll think?

What kind of RAM is it and what motherboard are you using? Some RAM modules do not work with in dual-channel mode with certain motherboards. The best way to find out which ones do work is to go to the motherboard manufacturer's website and look for a RAM compatibility list for you particular motherboard. Also, make sure you have the modules plugged into seperate channels. I made that mistake with my ASUS A8N SLI Deluxe; initially I plugged both DIMMs into socket A1 and A2, but they should have been in A1 and B1.

Kingston ram (rated for dual ddr).

Intel mobo.. something 865gbf

They were plugged in right for dual ddr in my intel mobo... I know because it took me forever to get it right :) (this was 2.5years ago, I just cannot see me starting to get issues over 2years later).. I am pretty sure I ran mem test when I first installed the ram, pretty sure

Is this your motherboard?

http://www.intel.com/design/motherbd/bf/

If you have the exact model number of your RAM, you can go here:

http://www.cmtlabs.com/memSearch.asp

...and find out if your RAM has been certified to work with the motherboard. If you have the DIMMs plugged in right, the only thing I can think of besides a compatibility issue is a setting in the BIOS that has disable dual-channel mode. Try looking around the BIOS and see if that's the problem.
