Ya sure about that? AFAIK the M2 socket is planned due to the change in memory from DDR to DDR2. Afterall alot of confusion (& customer support calls) would arise if there was s939 for DDR & DDR2.Originally posted by: everydae
It should be. But remember that only few high-end line-up, like FX series, will be Dual core using 939 according to AMD's roadmap. Mainstream dual core will be socket M2. Therefore, unless you have money power to spend $600+ for CPU (which FX is going for this day), just expect to upgrade whole system next year for dual core with newer socket. There's no future proof for either Intel or AMD right now.
