WOW, look at the Doom 3 benches. Simply amazing. Who would have thought a dual-core CPU could make such a difference? Maybe it only makes a difference when the game is CPU limited.

I could have sworn OpenGL already has native support for multi-processor systems

thats looking pretty good.

in all the normal modes theres a nice boost, but when they increase the IQ that seems to go, Farcry got some good numbers

those doom3 numbers are fantasitc, i wonder why it has such a profound effect in that game. is it to do with the look up tables n stuff?

Wow, that's really impressive (especially Doom 3). Makes me want to go ahead and buy that X2

Edit: Anyone know if similar (percentage-wise) gains will be seen with "older" cards like the 6800GT too?

LOL @ all those people who told me "Oh you wont' see a real boost in performance from newer GTX drivers because its already mature technology"

No offense, but I think the answer is obvious. If a video card is CPU limited, then a faster CPU will increase performance. Likewise, if a system is GPU limited, then putting in a faster CPU will be negligable for performance.

Looks like everything got a nice little boost. As Nvidia continues to refine their code, I'm sure things will only get better. Expect something similar from ATi drivers before too terribly long.

Yeah but these are multithreaded drivers vs. a multithreaded game.

WOW I am glad I got a dual core in my new system. Now if I can just get the damn thing working...

I wonder if SLI + dual core drivers has any different effect?

Wow, great. Makes me sad that I got a 6800GT though. I should have gotten a 6800 with my x2 because the performance increase won't be noticible in a real world scale with my 17 inch LCD. Can't wait until the drivers are released.

I thought the CPU was busy doing physics, but I guess the real hang-up is the driver processing?

So this performance will happen across the board on nvidia cards with X2's?? Will I see something with my softmodded quadro FX4000...perjhpas in my specveiewperf scores???

Apparently these drivers aren't rendering shadows properly in a lot of games.. there's a thread on it over at nvnews.

i wonder why there is such a huge drop in performance when the tests are run in high quality? altho not for all the benchmarks...interesting? any ideas?
