Dual channel problem with 8RDA+

I got my 1800+ running at 2.3GHz@1.65V on it finally, now has been looping for 7 hours in Prime95.

However it seems I can't get my 8RDA+ running at dual channel.

On power up the BIOS (2-April) said "Dual channel enabled" but I got no proof of it once boot into windows. CPU-z reported "single". Sandra memory BW test always gets around 3.2GB/s, which is typical to single channel DDR400.

I use Kingston PC2700 and PC3200 together, both 512MB and same density.

Nice overclock, is your 1800+ the latest DLT3C ones? Which cooling do you have?

No, that CPU-Z program is misleading, don't trust it, it has so many problems on my 8RDA. The only way is to trust the BIOS, if it says enabled, then it's running OK. If you're getting lower benchmarks in Sandra, try lowering the timings.

Yes it's low voltage one. JIUHB 0307 VP.

Now looping Prime95 at 12x200, 1.725V.

Wahaha I've just turned a XP1800+ into XP3200+

😀

damn...nice oc at that voltage.

You don't have to enable dual channel right? As long as you have 2 dimms of the same size and brand and speed dual channel is enabled. I have 2 crucial pc2100 256mb in slots 3 and 1. BUt i don't see any where in the bios at startup where it says dual channel is enabled.

I don't know if a reflash would do it, but there is a new BIOS out; I think it's from May 8th. I flashed my board with it, and I don't seem to be having problems.

I have the 12/31/2002 bios and I don't see any where it says dual channel enabled or not enabled. Can someone point me to where bios says this.

In dual channel mode it will run at the speed of the slowest memory, ie you are running dual channel pc2700 and not pc3200. Good luck.
